The New England Patriots equaled their longest winning run since the Brady period as they overcame division rivals the New York Jets by 13 points in professional football

Rookie Henderson led the way with three TDs as the Patriots notched an eighth straight win for the initial occasion since iconic QB Tom Brady's last year with the franchise in the 2019 season

QB Drake Maye accumulated 281 yards and a score, completing 25 out of 34 attempts

The win bolsters the New England's lead at the top of the AFC East as they moved to a 9-2 record, with the New York bottom after falling to two victories and eight defeats

The opposing team had gone in front at their home field with quarterback Justin Fields running in a five-yard touchdown to cap the Jets' initial series

But the New England fought back in the second quarter as the rookie rushed for two seven-yard TDs before the running back grabbed a reception from Maye at the rear of the endzone halfway into the third quarter to extend the lead to 21-7

"That was a key occasion for him rising to the challenge, and it's been fantastic for him to keep earning playing time," Maye said of the rookie. "He wants to be great."

Fields found Metchie toward the end of the third quarter to narrow the deficit for the Jets but Andy Borregales converted a two field goals in the fourth quarter as the home side wrapped up the win
