Thousands Attend Pro-Palestine Protests as Coordinators Promise to Continue Demonstrating

Numerous individuals gathered throughout the country at pro-Palestine demonstrations, with coordinators promising to persist in activism after a peace arrangement brokered by Donald Trump in Gaza showed early signs of stability.

Sydney Protest Gathers Substantial Attendance

In Sydney, the Palestine Action Group said 30,000 people had marched from the public gardens to another city park in the city center after a planned rally to the Opera House was banned by the legal authorities in recent days.

Local authorities approximated eight thousand participants participated in the local rally, with a spokesperson saying there had been "no significant incidents".

Countrywide Protests Commemorate Date

Demonstrations were also conducted in southern city, eastern city and west coast metropolis on the weekend to commemorate the ongoing situation after armed incidents on the date in 2023 caused significant casualties in Israel.

Another participant, who returned to Sydney on recently, gave an emotional speech describing his detention with 83 other men in an incarceration center.

Political Statements

The NSW Greens MP Jenny Leong addressed participants: "We must not allow a situation where American leadership shapes the outcome for Palestinian communities to be the nature of existence we tolerate."

Another organiser who filed the initial request to demonstrate at the famous location claimed that the demonstrators might have securely proceeded to the renowned coastal site. The NSW police assistant commissioner had earlier informed the court of appeal that the plan had "disaster written all over it".

The activist said on Sunday: "Every single time the authorities try to restrict our rallies or take us to the supreme court, it raises public awareness... to the necessity to organize and oppose such actions."
