Two Individuals Charged for Jail Killing of Former Lostprophets Frontman Ian Watkins

A pair of suspects stand accused of murder after the jailhouse death of ex-Lostprophets frontman and found guilty of child sex crimes Ian Watkins.

Samuel Dodsworth, 43, and Rashid Gedel, 25 have both been charged with murder and are scheduled to appear in Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, according to investigating officers.

Watkins, 48 years old, was in the midst of a 29-year prison term at HMP Wakefield, alongside six more years under supervision, after confessing to numerous sex crimes including the attempted rape of a baby.

Watkins was apprehended subsequent to a narcotics search warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a substantial collection of electronic devices including computers, phones and drives were taken as evidence.
